Reposting from @lauradrakec Working with @sarahnocquet.mov, @samantha.brainx, @caseygrosso, heloiselowenthal has been one of the dreamiest collaborations of my 2024.. but making Decoy together, along with so many other gorgeous creatives and crew, was truuuly special 🌹
We spent hours discussing Lia’s character and her styling, the power and symbolism of a dress, our dress (the Tilda), hand crafted by @magdaleneceleste and worn with effortless style by our tremendously talented actor, Lia Williams.
Decoy has a small literal footprint but contains mighty expressions of life, womanhood and journeys through success, and that just feels beautiful to me. Small brushstrokes that make huge statements; it was a joy to work on from start to finish.
With our all fem/enby crew & cast, Decoy personally gave me strides into my film work and so many affirmations that designing films and being on set is where I love to be 🩷
(I also got to meet heloiselowenthal which frankly changed everything, so there’s wins all round)
We are screening Decoy along with Iris Breward’s Afterplay on Sept 20th at @closeupfilmcentre and we’d love you all to come.

I knew I was different from the age of three but I didn’t know why. But my grandma noticed that I had, quote, ‘no discernible sense of humour’ so she bought me The Ha Ha Bonk Book and I took it very seriously”
